MOVING BLANCKET COLLECTION
The Moving Blanket Collection was an exploration of transforming raw, utilitarian material into unexpected fashion. Using actual moving blankets — heavy, padded, stitched textiles designed for protection during transport — the project recontextualized their industrial identity. Instead of following the logic of workwear or utility garments, we applied the material to silhouettes that are the complete opposite of labor clothing: refined, expressive, and far removed from their original function.
This tension between material and form created pieces that were both ironic and sculptural, highlighting MSCHF’s ethos of subverting expectations through design. I contributed to the project by helping shape the core concept, pushing the idea of taking something rooted in function and translating it into silhouettes that resist practicality, existing instead as bold, thought-provoking statements.
The campaign for the collection featured KidSuper as the model, further amplifying the playful, disruptive spirit of the project and connecting it to a wider creative culture.
